Advertising Policy

1. Ads on Whispi

Some of Whispi's public pages show sponsored content, in three formats: at most one sponsored card per page on the home page, profiles (right under the question box), answer pages and the search page; thin one-line strips between the answers of someone else's profile, at intervals along the feed; and, at the top of the live results that open while you type in the search box, a sponsored profile showing the advertiser's own Whispi account. Sponsored content is always shown with a "Sponsored" label and the advertiser's name, and advertisers' Whispi accounts carry a brand badge next to their name. There are no ads on your own profile, in your incoming questions, settings, notifications, emails, push notifications, broadcast mode or legal pages.

2. Ads we accept

Ads do not come from a third-party ad network; each one is reviewed and published by hand by the Whispi team. An ad must be honest and clear, suitable for all ages given that anyone older than 13 uses Whispi, comply with the applicable law, and lead to the page it promises when clicked. We may decline any ad or take it down.

3. Categories we do not accept

Gambling and betting; alcoholic drinks; tobacco products and e-cigarettes; cryptocurrency and investment products that promise returns; dating and adult content; weapons; drugs, and products or supplements that make health claims; political ads. We also do not run ads that are misleading, hateful or infringe the rights of others.

4. Ads and privacy

Ads are chosen by the page they appear on, not by the person. We do no targeting, use no advertising cookies and do not record who saw or clicked an ad; advertisers only see total views and clicks. See the Privacy Policy for details.

5. Reporting an ad

If you find a sponsored card or strip inappropriate, report it with "Report sponsored post" in the info menu on it; a sponsored profile can be reported from its profile page like any account. Reports are private and reviewed by our moderation team.

6. Advertising on Whispi
